The seven moves are yours to continue. Visit the town, or take the next turn.
A train at sundown. A promise to keep.
Every rival has a story.
Every recruit is a second chance.
Exported matches contain the initial position and legal moves—not camera frames. Reimports validate every move.
No online connection, accounts, analytics, or competitive clocks. Local autosave depends on your browser’s storage permissions. Imported artwork and runtime models are not equivalent: these are simplified, articulated interpretations.
Starting a scenario replaces the current local match. Export it first to keep a separate copy.
The streets, terraces, corral, and rail crossing form one exact 9×9 board. Select a piece, then a highlighted destination. Scenery never creates new moves or blocks a legal one.
A legal capture always succeeds. Its showdown is a cinematic, not a second combat system. The captured piece loses any promotion and joins your reserve. On a later turn, drop it onto a legal empty square.
A move entering, leaving, or staying in the far three ranks may promote. Drifter, Longshot, Rider, and Scout become Veterans; Sharpshooter becomes Deadeye; Stagecoach becomes Iron Coach. Boss and Sheriff never promote.
You cannot leave your Boss in check. The game ends when the opposing Boss has no legal answer to check; Bosses are never captured.
No two unpromoted Drifters in one file. No direct Drifter-drop checkmate. No Drifter or Longshot on its last rank, or Rider on its last two ranks. Drops do not capture or promote.
Drag to orbit; scroll or pinch to zoom. B restores board view, Space pauses the movie, G toggles the grid, P enters photo mode, and H hides the interface. Escape restores a safe view. Skip finishes presentation without changing the accepted move.
Fourfold repetition draws unless one side checked throughout the cycle; that side loses. Optional entering-king declaration uses the amateur 28/27-point thresholds, ten other pieces in the enemy camp, and a safe Boss. Untimed local play; illegal inputs are rejected. The practice opponent is a small search engine, not a rated shogi engine.
